    What is DUI?

Driving under the influence (DUI) is the criminal act of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol; and/or driving a motor vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.08% or higher.  The state of California has strict DUI laws that were created to dissuade people from drunk driving.  These laws permit harsh sentencing for any person who is convicted of driving under the influence.

If you have been charged with DUI in Orange County or Irvine, you should consult with an experienced criminal defense attorney who has successfully handled a variety of DUI cases.  A DUI Defense Attorney can review your case, challenge evidence presented by law enforcement and prosecutors, and provide valuable guidance throughout the legal process.  A DUI Defense Lawyer can also represent you during your DMV Hearing and help you get your driving privileges reinstated.

    DUI & Legal Penalties

When a person is convicted of driving under the influence, his/her legal penalties will depend upon several factors, such as:  the defendant’s prior criminal history, the defendant’s reported blood alcohol concentration, if the defendant is a minor, if there was property damage, and if the defendant caused an accident or bodily injury to another person while driving under the influence. If a person is convicted of DUI, he/she may be subject to jail time, fines, community service, DUI School, probation, and legal fees.  Additionally, the person may have his/her driving privileges suspended.
